Flying Change

My 23 y.o. Morgan Danmark's Eclipse, is attempting to learn with his vintage rider flying changes. Does anyone have a "great" method for asking for the change at the right moment? Mentally "Clip" is getting it but often changing in front, late behind. I'm also finding I need to allow him to "dive" a bit right now so that he can jump through. Some of this is still muscle building; however, he has made tremendous progress over the last 3 months (since we started this work). I'm just amazed that we are actually trying to break through to 4th level!
