View Full Version : Foundering solutions
I've got a horse who is 6 degrees rotated in both front feet, I'm looking for some foundering solutions.
I've heard of so far....
hospital shoes
putting the shoes on backwards
using a foam cushion in between the shoe and the hoof
wedged shoes
Anybody know of any other solutions?

I assume that you have had the foot xrayed to get a 6 degree number
if this has been caused by the heel being to low then you will need to shorten the toes SLOWLY ( not in one go as this will cause swelling in joints and tendons etc) and use elevated heels on the shoes, if it is vise versa then so is the treatment with thetoes that were to short and maybe use heartbar shoes, really you are playing with a area that you need to have a master farrier give you advise and in particular one who does corective shoeing. You could try www.worldsbesthoofoil.com and they have a free advise service from farriers around the world and some high profile names at that work for them
hope this is some sort of help
