Spooking

I recently purchased a 17.3H Draft Cross. He is afraid of his own shadow, spooking at everything, even squirrels. But he doesn't spook in place, he does this spook and spin thing, or explodes out from underneath me, and it makes me so nervous every time I ride him that I've become afraid to ride him. Is there any way to 'train' this out of him? :rolleyes:

it takes alot of time and training to break them out of the spooking habit. You might consider sending him away to get trained or broken out of his spooking habit. Ask around for recommendations for people who specialize in that and talk to them to get a better insight. Depends on what he's crossed with, how old he is, and more to determine what they can do and it what kind of time frame they can do it.
