Confused to be or not

How do you know if being a veterinarian is what you truly want to be? I know that I want to save animals' lives, and also, I am an animal lover, but how do I know if I will be happy being a veterinarian? If I shadowed a true veterinarian, should that help me finally decide whether or not I want to become a vet?

Go for an internship with a vet for a couple of months, that should cure you if your on the fence about it.
