I am dealing with a parvo outbreak at my house and have several pups that have become infected with parvo as test results have shown. My questions are: First off, should the IV fluids be put as steady drip or as pouches under the skin? Next, Which of the following antibiotics do you recomend for as an injection (Cefazolin, baytril, Ampicillin, Gentamycin, Amikacin, Trimethoprim-silfa, or Chloramphenicol) How should they be administered? Third, Which product do you recomend for nausea (Metoclopramide orChlorpromazine) and how should they me administered? Next, should I be adding potassium to the IV in effort to maintain electrolyte balance and should I be adding Dextrose (Sugar) due to low blood sugar? Finally, what other recomendations do you have relating to the treatment of this. I do know that this procedure is not recomended to be done at home however due to financial constrains I do have to resort to alternative methods. Thank you for your time.
